In the summer of 1999, I took a detour enroute to my "Working Holiday" in the UK. That was to the USA's east coast to work as a Summer Camp Counselor, a job I repeated in the summers of 2000, '01, '02 and 2004...

Working at a Camp - International Staff
Working at a summer camp in the USA is guaranteed to be one of the most challenging, exhilerating, and totally memorable experiences of your life!

It's not all fun in the sun tho... Expect very long days, very little privacy, hundreds of “hyper” american kids, and a day off a week (if you're lucky!)

If you're outside the US you'll have to be sponsored by an Agency (main ones are listed on the right) who can match you with a suitable camp, and help you with visa processing and travel details.
